Thursday's Thoughts on Leadership: The Power of Appreciation

Last week I had the opportunity to meet and listen to Mike Robbins speak at the Gibraltar Circle Conference in Punta Mia, Mexico. He is public speaker who works to empower people, teams, and organizations to work together effectively. It also so happens he’s from the Bay Area and even played baseball for Stanford University where he pitched in the College World Series. As an inspirational teacher, some of his clients have included Google, Adobe, eBay, and the San Francisco Giants. His goal is to inspire people to be more successful through increased levels of awareness and productivity both in their professional and personal lives.

Mike has also written three books, one of which I’ve recently started reading, Focus on the Good Stuff. The book explores the challenges associated with expressing and experiencing appreciation and gratitude in your life. It gives you simple ways to easily exercise the power of appreciation every day allowing you to focus on the good stuff.

This book shows us how to feel and express true appreciation by altering the way we relate to ourselves, others, and the world around us. By living a more grateful lifestyle, we can put ourselves on a path of deep fulfillment and authentic happiness.
